Mamoutou Diarra, founder of Diarra Academy based in Paris 19th
Basketball coach and life coach for young basketball enthusiasts
Who better than a pro player like Mamoutou Diarra can understand your passion?
Mamoutou “Mam” Diarra is a French international basketball player. He grew up and scored his first baskets in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. He trained at INSEP and signed his first contract at the age of 19 at AS Bondy (pro B) before launching his career at PSG (pro A).
After numerous successes and a busy career (French team: 47 caps, 5th in the 2006 world championship, vice-champion of France in 2011 with Cholet, champion of France with Nanterre in 2013, promotion to pro in 2015 as captain of the Antibes Sharks club…), Mam takes on the jersey of basketball coach, and today supports young people from all backgrounds and allows them to achieve similar and ambitious career goals.
From professional player to coach, advisor and entrepreneur..
For more than fifteen years, Mamoutou received a lot and in turn wanted to give absolutely: it began in 2014, with the creation of an association with his two brothers (Daouda Diarra and Abdoulaye Diarra better known under the name of Oxmo Puccino) – the cultural association helping young people called “Courte Echelle Paris”.
Then, subsequently Mam, created a second association in 2018: “La Diarra Academy”, more specifically joining her favorite field of basketball.

Mam and Rudy are “chameleon” coaches who adapt to all levels
Today, Mam has built part of her reconversion on the future of this sport thanks to La Diarra Academy where qualified basketball coaches follow young enthusiasts and help them improve.
This sport, and the practice of sport in general, is an activity which is intended to be altruistic and must not only serve the interests of so-called “business” sport.
In fact, the academy wishes to emphasize the social aspect with inclusion through sport in order to try to reduce certain inequalities. For example, we organize mini playground tournaments, basketball camps and masterclasses accessible to all. The Diarra Academy, more than a basketball coach, a life coach, prepares young citizens for life in society, for sharing life values:
- Development
- Investment
- Accompaniement
- Rigor
- Success
- Ascent
